Home / Terms & Conditions

Norton Law Professional Corporation (“Norton Law”) provides torontobaillawyers.ca (the “Site”) and its articles, publications and other materials (the “Content”) subject to these terms. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

Changes to these terms

Norton Law may change these terms. Continued use after changes indicates acceptance of the updated terms. You are responsible for reviewing this page regularly.

Information, not legal advice

The Content is general information, not legal or professional advice. It may not remain accurate or current after publication. Obtain advice from a lawyer about your circumstances. Website information does not guarantee a bail outcome.

No retainer and no guaranteed confidentiality

Using the Site or contacting the firm through it does not create a lawyer-client relationship. Receipt or confirmation of a consultation request is not acceptance of a retainer. Norton Law does not guarantee the confidentiality or privilege of unsolicited email or website communications; telephone the firm before sending sensitive information.

Permitted use and intellectual property

You may use the Site and Content for your own lawful, personal, non-commercial information. You acquire no ownership or licence other than this limited right of use. All rights in Norton Law's content are reserved, subject to applicable law.

Without prior written permission, you may not reproduce, republish, retransmit, distribute, sell, modify, translate or create derivative works from the Content, or frame the Site on another website, except as permitted by applicable law. Do not use the Site for unlawful purposes, interfere with its operation or misuse its consultation form.

Computer security

Accessing or downloading material is at your own risk. Norton Law does not guarantee compatibility with your systems or freedom from viruses or other harmful code. You are responsible for appropriate safeguards and protection of your device and data.

Warranties and liability

The Site and Content are provided “as is,” without warranties or conditions concerning quality, accuracy, reliability, completeness, currency, uninterrupted operation or fitness for a particular purpose. Norton Law does not assume responsibility for errors or omissions.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Norton Law disclaims express and implied warranties and conditions, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, and is not liable for losses or damages arising from use of or inability to use the Site or Content. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive damages and loss of profits, use or data. These terms do not exclude liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

External websites

Links are provided for convenience and do not endorse external websites or guarantee their content, security, accuracy or suitability. Access them at your own risk and review their terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada, regardless of your residence or location. The Site is intended for use only where it may lawfully be offered.

General provisions

These terms and the documents they reference form the agreement concerning use of the Site, replacing earlier communications about that use. They do not replace any separate retainer agreement. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. If a provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
